While most college students spent their winter break at home or in the mountains skiing, 20 students from CoPIRG’s Energy Service Corps spent their break educating 1,454 K-12 students in classrooms across Colorado about energy conservation
From World War II until just a few years ago, the number of miles driven annually on America’s roads steadily increased. Then, at the turn of the century, something changed: Americans began driving less. By 2011, the average American was driving 6 percent fewer miles per year than in 2004. The trend away from driving has been led by young people.

We are educating professors about ways they can help reduce the cost of textbooks, like turning their book orders in on time and adopting open textbooks.

CoPIRG Energy Service Corps
A joint project with AmeriCorps to educate and engage communities around energy efficiency. We educate the campus and community about the simple things we can do to save energy like switching out our old light bulbs to more energy efficient CFLs.
