Campaign | Transit

21st Century Transportation

Colorado has a 20th century transit system that is wasteful, inefficient and expensive.  Our public transportation system is small and woefully underfunded so that most Coloradans have no choice to but to drive to work, to ski, and to the grocery store.

Campaign | Higher Ed

Affordable Higher Education

A college degree is practically a necessity these days, not only for the individual student, but for the economic and social health of the country. But as states cut budgets, and grant aid has diminished, students are relying on loans to pay for college.

Campaign | Hunger

Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness

We know we can live in a world where everyone has a roof over their head, enough food to eat and access to clean drinking water. Unfortunately, despite some advances we’re far from this vision.

Campaign | Energy

Campaign for Energy Efficient Colorado

With our energy needs growing fast, and energy bills rising for all Coloradans, one thing is clear: we can’t afford to continue using energy wastefully. The solution to cutting these costs is simple—energy efficiency.

Campaign | Sustainability

Go Green National Geographic

National Geographic is known as a leader in stewardship, so most of their readers would be shocked to learn that while highly respected and perhaps the inspiration for many in the conservation movement, National Geographic lags far behind other publications that you would expect to be on recycled paper, such as AudubonNational Wildlife, and Mother Earth News, as well as those you wouldn’t necessarily expect, like Motorcycle ClassicsFast Company, and Shape.

Campaign | Textbooks

Make Textbooks Affordable

Every student knows that textbook prices are outrageous! Many books cost over $200 a piece and end up worth pennies by the end of the semester, often thanks to unnecessary new editions and pass-codes that expire. It's time for publishers to stop charging ridiculous prices and start taking advantage of today's technology to offer students a better deal. Our campaign is working to increase the use of "open textbooks," which are free online, free to share, and affordable in print -- the ideal publishing model to make textbooks affordable.

Campaign | Higher Ed, Textbooks

Make Textbooks Affordable

Everyone knows that textbooks costs are out of control. The average student spends $900 per year, and prices are rising four times the rate of inflation!

Campaign | Health Care

Making Health Care Work

A pro-consumer health insurance exchange would bring competition to the health insurance marketplace, increasing affordability, access and choice for hundreds of thousands of families and small businesses.

New Voters Project

The New Voters Project is a nonpartisan effort to help register young people and get them to the polls on Election Day. We believe the best way to get political leaders to pay attention to young people and our issues is to register and vote.

Student Consumer Action Network

Our economy needs to be fair to consumers in order to function. While a company may make a short-term profit from ripping off consumers or putting an unsafe product on the market, it's not good for anyone in the long term. We have created a series of guides to help you avoid rip-offs and scams, and to be a smarter, healthier consumer.
